Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Dip Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 20-25 Surf / Sea State: good surf Air Temperature: 4.5 Sea Temperature: 5.2 Weather: cloud then drizzle Max Speed: Distance Covered:
No one around. Checked Golf spit for wind strength and found some kiters
going out, and said they would keep an eye on me. Swainey reckoned 5.5-6m,
so I rigged 5.2m as he went back to home warmth. Sail was too big for sea,
and hands so cold I could not grip, so came in at Golf and changed to 4.7m.
Dumped back on shore, then had a couple of more charges and wise retreats
along the beach. Shore dump was relentless and after surveying length of
beach could not launch for about an hour, getting cold so went home. Pity,
as sea looked very good with surf.
4 kiters out on 8m, and they came in for a while as wind increased. I
wondered how they launched and landed in shore dump, for one at least
landing was rocket into beach and get dragged up shingle.
